On August 5, 2024, I took the R train from the Woodhaven Blvd. station in Queens to the Whitehall Street station in Manhattan. (Close by are the Staten Island and Governors Island ferries and Battery Park.) It was a very long ride!! No incidents. And to those of you who believe the subway is dangerous, I say it's no more dangerous than living in a well protected gated neighborhood.

From the Whitehall station, I walked north along the East River (FDR Drive/South Street/East River Greenway) to Pier 17, making stops along the way. When I was done touring the area, I walked up Fulton Street to Church Street and took the E train home. At the Roosevelt Avenue station, I took the M train to the Woodhaven Blvd. station.

It was a very hot and sunny day. I think I got enough vitamin D to last me for a year!

Photos taken during my walk are posted below. They will be arranged as taken.
