The Arcadia docking. Docking area has been expanded to accommodate more ships.
At one time only one ship could dock. All other ships would have to tender in their passengers.

Passengers on the Adventure were told not to hang anything on the balconies to avoid fires. Here we can see someone on the Arcadia removing items from a line.
As the Adventure began to dock, the individual on the Arcadia began taking down what they had hanging. I thought it was funny.

The staff getting the gangway ready for the passengers to disembark. This was done at each port.
I always look so scared!!

Looks calm, right? A huge wave hit us, we flipped, causing us to lose our glasses. Luckily, I had a second pair. Elton as not that lucky. Not a nice experience.
The lovely beach. Further up is the "nude" beach.

Disembarkation and visit with Titi Mery
April 24, 2011
I took these photos as we were waiting to disembark.
The cruise line did not have airline representatives at the pier, as in the past, so we could not check in our luggage. One of the RCI reps told me there was a luggage storage facility at the airport. Since we had transfers to the airport, we dropped off the luggage to a waiting truck at the pier then took a van to the airport. Once at the airport, we collected our luggage from the RCI truck. After storing our luggage ($6.00 per piece), we took a taxi to visit my aunt, Titi Mery. We were with her for a few hours. As always, she treated us to lunch. We had a delicious lunch, including chicken mofongo. It was great spending time with my aunt, my mother's last living sister! May God watch over Titi Mery. (RIP-2022) See photo below.

Summary of the 2011 cruise
I will not repeat all the information mentioned on the old site. This much I will say:
The cruise was great!! The Adventure of the Seas is a beautiful ship. The shows were nice, especially the ice show in Studio B on Deck 3. One night, we were entertained by Herb Reed's Platters! The main dining room was very elegant and the Windjammer Café had excellent choices and a lot to choose from. Elton and I enjoyed the tours very much. In St. Martin, we were hit by a huge wave that flipped us over causing us to lose our glasses. Luckily, the pair I had on was a second pair. Elton was not so lucky. He ended up getting a pair of reading glasses on St. Croix. The only island with rain was St. Maarten, which took place while we were getting ready to have lunch in the Windjammer Café. It lasted about 10 minutes.
Would I go on this ship again? A definite YES.
I had problems with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel in San Juan but when is that not the case? This was not the first time having problems in San Juan. I will not give the details here.
