Another way to get around the ship. The printed newsletter is not distributed daily. Some could be found by Guest Services. One could also request to have a copy delivered to stateroom.
And yet another way to find out what is happening around the ship. Also, the Royal Caribbean App was a helpful tool.
One last look of the Centrum

Leaving the ship, and San Juan's Airport

Back in San Juan. Rhapsody of the Seas (The ship will visit St. Croix during my stay on the island.)
Rhapsody of the Seas - Pan-American Pier. The Jewel will do one or two more cruises from San Juan and then sail to Florida.
Another selfie. El Capitolio over right shoulder.

End of another great cruise.
Though Jewel of the Seas is considered an old ship, the staff worked very hard to keep passengers happy. The wear and tear of the ship can be seen in the cabins - mirrors, sofa bed, balcony, etc. The cabin stewards kept the rooms tidy and were always available to assist. The cabin was comfortable. But the aging of the ship does not affect the fun. The Centrum, Deck 4, was constantly active with games, dances, music, etc. Also, there were enough clubs, and a theater, with entertainment to keep everyone busy. The main dining room, Tides, was nice. Tides was on 2 Decks 4 and 5. The waiters were excellent. The Windjammer buffet, Deck 11 aft, was also excellent. There was always lots of great choices. There were also stations where one could order freshly made pasta dishes, omelets, etc. There was something for everyone. In the Windjammer, there was seating indoors and outdoors. I tended to go up one flight to Deck 12, outside the Izumi Japanese Restaurant, and have my breakfast on one of the tables there. I tried one of the Specialty Restaurants, Chops Grille, and was very pleased with the service and food. What I liked most of the Jewel is the fact it has a wrap-around deck, Deck 5, what was once called the Promenade Deck.
Would I cruise on the Jewel of the Seas, or similar ship, in the future? Definitely yes.
The islands we visited were all great. Though I had visited each one before, there were new things to see and do due to the many changes that have taken place over the years. Sint/St. Maarten has become almost unrecognizable!!
While visiting St. Thomas, I ran into a neighbor by one of the shops. We talked.
I found the cruise to be mostly Puerto Ricans. I suppose they take advantage of having the Jewel so close. There were many children on this cruise, but the majority were well behaved.
After checking out for the last time, I headed to the airport and took JetBlue to St. Croix. Photos taken on my beautiful island will be posted under USVI - St. Croix - 2 beginning with R-1.
Hope you enjoyed the photos.
